Who spotted the Drive Rally car at Goodwood Festival of Speed?

The 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard is well known for the superb hillclimb record attempts, wild displays of donuts in front of Goodwood House and throngs of octane-loving crowds pouring onto the site over the 4 days the festival runs.

A highlight for many, however, is the awesome Goodwood Forest Rally Stage which runs in the wooded area at the top of the hill during the FOS weekend, and attracts a large number of people who are seeking that slightly muckier, more sideways spectacle.

Drive Rally instructors accepted an invitation to compete at the Festival of Speed Forest Rally Stage in their striking blue and yellow Group N Subaru Impreza WRX. Part of the duty of driving on the stage was to provide visual entertainment to the crowds of people who lined the rally stage (braving the somewhat inclement weather conditions) and to add to the spectacle of the online live stream provided by Goodwood Road & Racing. Drive Rally were also able to cater for the International Rally Drivers Club (IRDC) VIP passenger rides - being strapped to the co-driver seat of the Impreza for a thrilling hot-lap ride - certainly something the lucky few won't forget in a hurry. Whilst all Saturday FOS action was curtailed due to extreme wind and rain - the team were back up to full steam on Sunday when the weather had cleared up, with Ellis even guiding Red Bull/WRC TVs Mike Chen through the Forest Stage. Sion and Tom at Drive Rally would like to thank Shaun Martin and IRDC, Goodwood, Southern Car Club and all involved, for making them feel most welcome at the Festival, and as the dust settles on the 2023 event, eyes turn to 2024 and making it an even greater experience for the IRDC and its associates.
